Diwali explained by Indian Origin boy born in USA

A young second generation Indian Origin boy in the US was asked by his mother to explain the significance of "Diwali" to his younger brother, this is how he went about it...

 

"So, like this dude had, like, a big cool kingdom and people liked him. But, like, his step-mom, or something, was kind of a bitch, and she forced her husband to, like, send this cool-dude, he was Ram, to some national forest or something.... Since he was going, for like, something like more than 10 years or so..... he decided to get his wife and his bro along... you know...so that they could all chill out together. But Dude, the forest was reeeeal scary shit... really man.....they had monkeys and devils and shit like that. But this dude, Ram, kicked with darts and bows and arrows... so it was fine.

 

But then some bad gangsta boys, some jerk called Ravan, picks up his babe (Sita) and lures her away to his hood. And boy, was our man, and also his bro, Laxman, pissed... all the gods were with him... So anyways, you don't mess with gods. So, Ram, and his bro get an army of monkeys... Dude, don't ask me how they trained the damn monkeys... just go along with me, ok....

 

So, Ram, Lax and their monkeys whip this gangsta's ass in his own hood.... Anyways, by this time, their time's up in the forest..... and anyways... it gets kinda boring, you know... no TV or malls or shit like that. So,they decided to hitch a ride back home.... and when the people realize that our dude, his bro and the wife are back home...they thought, well, you know, at least they deserve something nice... and they didn't have any bars or clubs in those days... so they couldn't take them out for a drink, so they, like, decided to smoke and shit... and since they also had some lamps, they lit the lamps also....so it was pretty cooool.... you know with all those fireworks.... Really, they even had some local band play along with the fireworks... and you know, what, dude, that was the very first, no kidding..., that was the very first music-synchronized fireworks... you know, like the 4th of July stuff, but just, more cooler and stuff, you know. And, so dude, that was how, like, this festival started."

The mother fainted...

What do women want? Reservation or equality?

India has lots of issue as Lalu said like price rise, unemployment, growing regionalism and threat to national security. I am not against the bill, can any confirm me whether the bill will be useful to handle the above serious issue what we are facing today. Second thing whether this will increase the Women’s presence in Indian polities? It will only increase the number of Women representative in assembly or parliament.

But why we can not imagine we can see more Rabri Devi like rubber stamp. I think the Women having real capability must get chance and opportunities to enter the assembly or parliament. Why we are forgetting India have some grate Women leader like Indira Gandi, Jayalatila, Mamata Banarjee, Basundra Raje, Shila Dekhit, Mehemuda Sahid , Meera Kumar , Susama Swaraj and many more. Most important all above leaders are in top label post in their party and holds top label position in Indian Democrat. I am totally against any label of reservation in any form. If you want to improve them, then spends your attention on their study and their growing up. Please my dear politician stop vote polities and abolish any form reservation either in employments, higher studies and house of representative.

I am all for women empowerment, but Reservation doesn't Solve any problem and It's a shame that we always look for shortcuts instead of sorting out the real problem in this case is giving tickets to the right candidates women or men, reservation is like denying or rather depriving a more capable person of its deserving position. we have reservation acts in the education system , reservation in medicine , Engineering, IIM , putting on future of our country on toss and making things worse.

What do women want? Reservation or equality?
It is their choice or something else is driving this , I feel its more like "better halves-in-power".

Stupid Common Man

I am someone who is afraid to get into a bus or a train these days.
I am someone whose wife thinks is going to war..
.. while I am actually going to my work.
She is afraid that I may not return.
She calls up every two hours. To find if I had my tea.
To find if I have lunched.
Actually she wants to find out whether I am still alive.
I am someone who sometimes gets stuck in the rain or in the blasts.
I am someone who suspects the person carrying a rosary.
I am also the one who is afraid to grow his beard and wear a cap.
If I buy a shop I am afraid to choose a name as..
.. someone might see the name and burn it during the riots.
No matter which two parties are fighting..
.. I am the first one to get killed.
You must have seen a crowd. Choose a person from it.
I am that person.
I am just the stupid common wanting to clean his house.
Do you want me to live my life and die every moment of it?
I just did not get the time to do it.
In the process of earning my daily bread this work got neglected.
But it’s better late than never.
last time they were killed in a train..

They will keep on killing until we learn to give a solid reply.

Google Buzz: How it will work

The world's No. 1 search engine Google has rolled out another app that will expand its Web presence. Called Google Buzz, the feature will pit it against social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Google Buzz will allow users to quickly share messages, Web links and photos with friends within its popular email service Gmail.

Google Buzz comes after the company's several not-so-successful attempts to strengthen its position in the hotly-contested social networking space.

Here's what Google Buzz will do for users.

As soon as Google Buzz service becomes active in a user's Gmail account, they can find a tab for Buzz below their inbox. On clicking the tab, users can read status updates, photos and video. Buzz updates will also show up directly in user's inbox as well as in a tab within Gmail.

According to Buzz product manager Todd Jackson, "You can open an item to comment directly because it’s a live object with an open connection to the server that gets updates in all time.

According to Google, 40 people whom users talk to through Gmail and Gchat will be automatically added as friends.

Buzz uses information from the existing email accounts of users to automatically show updates and media from people they talk to regularly. However, it will also allow users to share information privately if they want.Status messages that users publish on Google Buzz and flag as viewable to everyone will be automatically indexed by Google's search engine and be available within Google's recently launched real-time search results.

Google said users can also keep messages private by sharing only with customized groups of friends and colleagues.

Like other social services, Buzz allows users to post status updates that include text; photos from services like Google’s Picasa and Yahoo’s Flickr; videos from YouTube; and messages from Twitter. Analysts say many of its features mimic those of Facebook.

This means Buzz will eliminate the need for people to visit sites like Twitter to post updates or see those sent by people they have selected to follow.

google executives said that Google Buzz is currently not able to display messages that originated on Facebook, the world's No. 1 social network with 400 million active users.

According to Jackson, Buzz goes beyond status updates by letting people "pull in" images, video or other data from websites including Picasa, Flickr, Twitter and Google Reader.

Google Buzz will also pull in updates from outside your immediate group, such as an active conversation involving some friends and some people you aren't following. However, though users can view Twitter messages within Buzz, they will not be able to publish new messages to Twitter's service.

Mumbai For All ... Really ??????

I live in democratic country , Where every one has a right to speak and write , let me use my rights :)

We all know what happening in Mumbai, The Shiv Sena is at it again and now its sharukh khan , rahul gandhi ,sonia gandhi , Ambani's , sachin tendulkar, and many many more . Hope you all remember what happened to  all those people who had gone Mumbai for railways entrance test , Bihari/Up taxi drivers , shop keepers who are forced to change their shop Name. 

Basically, we the people of India are fooled easily. That is the reason why people like Thackeray can ignite a row on the issues of religion, language, place and states and casts. I really differ the what they thing and say , but yes truly admit that there are many of us who really worship them.

Soon the Thackeray family will start asking for Maharashtra to be a separate country and one will need VISA to go there. They are just dividing the society for their own benefit and making the most of public interest. This is definitely not for publicity as they are already well or notoriously known. If their intentions are not curbed soon, this infectious thought will spread to other states too.

What is the difference between Australians and the Thackerays. Australia is out of our country, but the Sena is within our purview, some thing has to be done to control such act of hooliganism.


I will say Why only Thackarey? All our political leaders are adopting the dirty way to achieve their narrow interest. Sometime in the name of caste, in the name of province, language, religion and what not? The basic rule of the land to be thoroughly altered to check the menace. In the absence of a national party, and because of weakness of national leaders all regional political parties play the nasty game. All to be banned and punished. But who is to bell the cat? The so called national parties are also forming alliance with those regional parties only to gain power. Let us ban the multiparty system. Two party system should be introduced
